Dolphins running back De’Von Achane will be ready to play Monday against the host Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami head coach Mike McDaniel announced Saturday.
Achane, who is nursing a rib injury, is listed as questionable to play for the Dolphins (6-7) versus the Steelers (7-6).
Perhaps the news comes as little surprise given that McDaniel previously noted that Achane could have returned in the second half of last weekend’s game against the New York Jets. Miami was in firm control of the game at the time and extended its win streak to four games with a 34-10 victory over the Jets.
Achane, 24, sustained his injury after he landed on the ball following a 29-yard carry in the second quarter. He finished with 92 yards on seven carries with a touchdown and one reception for 13 yards.
Achane has rushed 193 times for 1,126 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 55 receptions for 383 yards and four scores in 13 games (all starts) this season.
He has rushed for 2,833 yards on 499 carries with 21 touchdowns in 41 career games (33 starts) since being selected by the Dolphins in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M.
