The Miami Marlins will reinstate right-hander Edward Cabrera from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday’s game at Philadelphia.
Marlins manager Clayton McCullough on Monday confirmed to MLB.com the impending return of Cabrera, who landed on the IL on Sept. 1 (retroactive to Aug. 31) with an elbow strain.
Cabrera threw three innings in a simulated game on Sept. 17 and reached 97 mph with his fastball, per MLB.com.
Cabrera, 27, is 7-7 with a 3.57 ERA in 24 starts this season. In five seasons with the Marlins, Cabrera is 24-29 with a 4.09 ERA in 87 appearances (85 starts).
