JALEN ROSE BIO
Current ESPN/ABC analyst and former 13-year NBA star Jalen Rose is one of the few professional athletes to maintain a high profile post retirement. In 1994, Jalen was drafted in the first round by the Denver Nuggets and through his thirteen-year NBA career won the NBA’s “Most Improved Player” and “Player of the Week” awards in 2000 and appeared in three straight eastern conference finals including a trip to the NBA Finals in 2000. Shortly after retiring from basketball in 2007, Jalen signed with ABC/ESPN as an analyst and has appeared on ESPN’s flagship shows SportsCenter, Mike and Mike, First Take, SportsNation, Outside the Line and Numbers Never Lie, as well as Coast to Coast, NBA Tonight and College Game Day.
In addition to hosting Jalen & Jacoby, Jalen will also regularly host NBA Countdown. Jalen has also established the Jalen Rose Foundation/Charitable Fund, the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy (JRLA) and serves as an Ambassador for the American Federation for Children and National Basketball Retired Players Association.
DAVID JACOBY BIO
David Jacoby is a Producer at ESPN Content Development. Back in 1999, while attending NYU Business School and interning at an evil financial institution, he decided a future of wealth and comfort was clearly not in the cards. Dave answered an ad posted by ESPN looking for someone to write 500 sports trivia questions in 48 hours, got the gig, and hasn’t been fired yet. During his time at ESPN he has produced and created a variety of television shows, the latest of which he (and a couple friends) created is ESPN2’s “SportsNation.”
Along with television shows, he (and a couple different friends) launched “ESPN Original Digitals”, a group of short form internet videos including “Mayne Street”, “ESPN Road Trip” and “The Next Round.” In addition, Dave occasionally appears on Bill Simmons’ podcast “The B.S. Report” as “The Czar of Reality
