The New York Rangers are reportedly continuing their offensive makeover, agreeing to a one-year contract with winger Eeli Tolvanen on Tuesday.
According to PuckPedia, the deal is for $1.5 million.
The Finnish-born Tolvanen, 27, tallied 12 goals and 36 points with a minus-18 rating in 78 games with the Seattle Kraken last season. That marked the fewest goals he has scored in a season since 2021-22 with the Nashville Predators, but the points mark was the second highest of his career.
In eight NHL seasons, Tolvanen has 92 goals and 98 assists with a minus-37 rating across 423 games.
Tolvanen was drafted 30th overall by Nashville in 2017 and spent the first four-plus seasons of his career with the Predators. The Kraken selected him off waivers in December 2022.
In late June, the Rangers acquired Pavel Dorofeyev from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for two first-round picks and a third-round pick. On July 1, New York sent Vincent Trocheck to the Utah Mammoth for defenseman Sean Durzi, forward Cole Beaudoin and two third-round draft choices. Those moves came on the heels of the Rangers’ trade of Artemi Panarin to the Los Angeles Kings last season.
