Zach Neto gives Angels walk-off win over M’s in 10

Zach Neto singled to drive in LaMonte Wade Jr. from second base with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, giving the Los Angeles Angels a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Seattle Mariners on Friday in Anaheim, Calif.

Neto produced the first walk-off hit of his career on his bobblehead giveaway night. He bounced a grounder on 1-0 sweeper by Mariners reliever Casey Legumina (4-5) just past the outstretched glove of diving Seattle second baseman Cole Young into shallow right field to drive in the game-winner.

Jo Adell had a two-run double and Neto also had two hits for Los Angeles, which snapped a four-game losing streak. Ryan Zeferjahn (6-3) picked up the win with a scoreless inning of relief.

Julio Rodriguez hit two home runs for Seattle. He became the third player in Mariners’ history to have five or more multi-homer games before turning 25, joining Ken Griffey Jr. (14) and Alex Rodriguez (14).

Seattle jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Rodriguez 394-foot home run to right-center.

Los Angeles took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first. Neto led off with a single and went to second on a one-out walk to Nolan Schanuel. With two outs, Adell drilled a double down the left field line to drive in both Neto and Schanuel, snapping an 0-for-13 drought.

The Mariners tied it 2-2 in the sixth inning when Rodriguez led off with his 17th homer and third in two games, a 408-foot drive over the bullpens in left field.

Seattle first baseman Josh Naylor, obtained in a trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday, flew cross-country from Pittsburgh on Friday and made his Mariners debut, going 1-for-4.

All-Star Bryan Woo started for Seattle and allowed two runs on four hits in six-plus innings, walking two and striking out six. Woo tied Randy Johnson’s franchise record set in 1993 of 20 straight starts to open the season pitching at least six innings.

Angels starter Jose Soriano permitted two runs on four hits in six innings, with one walk and five strikeouts.
