Wagner, which made just 3 of 15 from deep in a season-opening loss to Boston College, made its first two from distance on Friday and led Miami early, 10-8. But Wagner missed 13 of its next 14 shots overall as Miami went on a 14-2 run.
By halftime, the Hurricanes led 34-21 as Reneau topped all scorers with eight points. Gaskins was also impressive in the first half with a behind-the-back dribble that led to a layup and a corner 3-pointer.

In the second half, Miami’s defense took over, including four straight steals that led to fast-break layups or dunks — three buckets by Henderson and one by Somto Cyril.
